Lukas is founder of Tourmaline Labs, a San Diego based company that engineers context-aware, driving behavior analytics that provides deep insight into how and why people drive the way they do.
This enables automotive, insurance, telematics, and fleet industries to derive next-gen driver-behavior intelligence form embedded hardware devices as well as mobile phone applications to power behavior-based decision making.
Lukas designed the Tourmaline Lab platform to offer valuable contextual driving behavior
intelligence that reconciles driving-data with the driving-environment to provide meaningful and purposeful behavior scoring. Prior to founding Tourmaline Labs, Lukas served at Qualcomm’s
Research & Development Center as Senior System Engineer developing contextual Intelligence
technologies and systems designed to enhance and coordinate user outcomes.
In 2010 Lukas obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich.
Since then he has published over 35 peer-reviewed research articles,
holds 16 US patents and he actively participates in number of industry related committees.
